Project Introduction
In order to deliver a worldwide non-profit organization foundation’s mission messaging, it used PCs to play videos, and to display event pictures and posters. However, the foundation’s MIS staff found the PCs to be unstable, with huge power consumption problems. Content central management and playback performance were also big issues for foundation marketing staff. In addition, considering the problem of consistent information deployment and live-update capabilities to worldwide branch locations, the organization was in need of a global network-enabled system to control all its digital signage requirements.
Solution
Along with optimal power efficiency, Advantech’s basic digital signage solution uses a RISC-based architecture to ensure greater system stability and reliability. Fanless structure and thermal design enhances its operational stability. This system is vastly different from the previous PC structure the organization had adopted. In contrast with a commercial PC's size, the compact digital signage player saves the organization time and money by reducing installation time, and simplifying cabling requirements. Advantech’s basic digital signage system provides content management and play list scheduling through an onboard Linux-based management signage software application. Live content can be scheduled and deployed to all displays via the network.
