Advantech Serial Device Servers

  The Problem
RS-232/422/485 devices remain a loyal mainstay in industrial control solutions. But the build-out of an Industrial Ethernet framework decouples control of these legacy serial devices. How do you bridge Ethernet to enable management of these serial devices?
  The Solution
Easily Manage RS-232/422/485 devices over an Ethernet network with the addition of Serial Device Servers. With the efficiency of plug & play, the EKI-1000 Series Serial Device Servers can network-enable Serial devices over any TCP/IP network. For Modbus TCP protocol devices, Advantech also offers a line of Modbus Gateways to perform the similar function to bridge Modbus-to-Ethernet.

  Additional Features
Surge protection is a required feature for Serial Device Servers in an industrial application. Additionally, for those applications that require it, select Advantech Serial Device Server models in the series feature Extreme Temperature ratings and/or serial port isolation. Look for model numbers designated with "CI" or "I" to provide Extreme Temperature rated designs up to -40~75C. Model numbers designated with "CI" will additionally offer 2KV isolation for RS-422/485 signals.
