Project Scope: |
La Pasta is a popular Italian restaurant with several locations in California. Their popularity often leads to long waiting lines ranging from 30~40 minutes. Many potential customers give up after looking at the long line for alternative dining options. La Pasta owners were quick to identify the problem and wanted to find a solution to improve customer waiting experience. |
Solution: |
The requirements for this system included: an interactive kiosk, a Full HD display monitor and a system to power and connects everything together for a seamless and efficient solution. With Advantech’s strong product portfolio and industrial grade guarantee, La Pasta management selected Advantech to fulfill this solution. They helped the restaurant implement PowerQ, a cloud queue solution for customer management and waiting experience. |

Benefits: |

‧ |
Real-time information displays and integrated marketing system |

Scenario: |
Before customers even enter the restaurant, they input the number of people in their party and a contact number. The self-service kiosk, UTC-520, will print out a ticket as well as display a QR code for the customer to track on a PowerQ mobile app. When a table is ready, the app will ping the customer to return to the restaurant within 5 minutes timeframe. This gives the flexibility for customers whom can either wait around the restaurant or leave and come back. Some popular restaurants still use a buzzer which has a proximity limitation that confines a customer’s mobility. |
A large 42” Full HD digital signage monitor, DSD-3042, will display queuing information for customers who choose to wait at the restaurant. Customers will see real time status updates as well as targeted ads about the of the restaurant and special features for the day. |
PowerQ and Advantech’s system helps increase customer satisfaction and drives more business into the restaurant. It streamlines restaurant operations and delivers a positive customer waiting experience. |
Conclusion: |
The system was built with UTC-520 and UTC-515, Advantech industrial-grade self-service touch computers. An DS-570, a digital signage media player, was used to connect the display monitors, DSD-3042, and provide networking connectivity to transmit information back to the control management system. PowerQ software completed the solution, assisting customers at the restaurant. The real-time status updates alleviate waiting time frustration and made operations more efficient. |
Overall La Pasta was very pleased with the cloud queuing solution and has implemented this system across all locations. They plan continue to work with Advantech and PowerQ and implement this system at a national scale. |
