Display for Electric Vehicle Charging System is Easy on the Eyes

AeroVironment Inc. is a technology company in Simi Valley, California primarily involved in energy systems, electric vehicle systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). Since the first modern electric car more than 20 years ago, Aeroviroment launched thousands of charging stations for commercial electric vehicles (EVs) worldwide, and supported major automakers in the development of their next-generation cars and batteries. More and more EVs are becoming popular in market, and thus charging stations are becoming commonplace. Usually, an electrical vehicle charging station is installed at locations where most vehicles park and are exposed directly to sunlight or to similar ambient conditions. Therefore, visibility of screens in bright sunlight is mandatory for Aeroenviroment.
 

Solution
To solve the sunlight readability issue, Advantech developed an 8.4 inch display kit with high brightness and anti-reflection film on the LCD module to withstand outdoor environmental conditions. The display kit solution gives the customer complete flexibility and easy integration into the device. Thus Aeroviroment can focus on actual system design. Moreover, this wide-temperature LCD is capable of working properly in harsh environments and its low-power consumption feature - just 8.36 Watts - lowers the heat on the entire system. The result is a rugged device ideal for any location.
