Intelligent Platform with Azure IoT Edge

AI processing, such as machine learning and data analytics, is typically conducted at cloud-based data centers and requires extensive computing capacity. However, with industries trending toward conducting more processing at the edge, Advantech has developed its ESRP-CSS series of intelligent edge platforms that feature Microsoft’s Azure IoT Edge to enable edge-based AI processing. These platforms not only streamline operations, but also help bridge the gap between OT and IT.

Converting Between Serial and Ethernet Connectivity

Advantech Azure IoT edge converts RS-232/422/485 signals to Ethernet signals, enabling seamless communication between traditional serial-based devices, such as PLCs, meters, sensors, and barcode readers, and IP-based Ethernet devices.

WISE-EdgeLink Supports 200+ PLCs

Featuring plug-and-play functionality, which reduces software development time, Edgelink supports more than 200 PLC devices. This enables device data to be easily collected, eliminating the gap between OT and IT.

Extends Cloud Intelligence to Edge Devices

IoT solutions such as stream analytics, machine learning, image recognition, and other high-value AI-based processes can be deployed from the cloud to the edge to support diverse applications.

Enables Container-Based Engine Solution

Azure IoT Edge is a containerized solution supported by Moby engine. This container-based engine provides a developer friendly, container-native, and enterprise-ready managed service for running highly available clusters for control, and security in Azure cloud infrastructure.
